Where You’re Going Wrong with Smoothies

Smoothies provide numerous advantages for your wellness journey, from allowing you to consume more nutrients to allowing you to eat on the move. However, in order to get the most nutrients out of a smoothie, you must know how to make it properly.

Keep it Simple

There’s no need for your smoothies to be extremely complex, with ten or more ingredients! If you keep it easy, you’ll be much more likely to make them on a regular basis, and you’ll save a lot of money.

Please keep things simple by creating a formula for each smoothie. Fruit, vegetables, and greens, as well as healthy fats, protein sources, and liquids, may be included. That covers all the bases without making things too difficult for you. It also helps when you don’t have all of your usual components and need to mix them up a little.

Don’t Over-Do the Sugar

This is a common mistake that many people make. There’s a common misconception that s moothies won’t taste delicious unless they’re packed with fruits and fruit juices. While fruit sugar isn’t as terrible for you as table sugar or artificial sugar, it can still raise your blood sugar and cause a sugar crash after you consume it.

You want to use the fruit as a natural sweetness in your smoothies, but you should also include some greens. You can put spinach in almost anything, and as long as there are enough other ingredients, you won’t even notice it.

Stick to one or two fruits each smoothie, with one of them being a lower-sugar alternative, such as berries.

Add the Greens

Smoothies should contain both fruits and vegetables for optimal nutrition. Adding some greens to your smoothie will boost the nutrients while having little effect on the flavor.

Greens improve the nutritional value of your smoothie, keep the sugar content low, and help you feel fuller for longer. Greens are high in water content, and if you don’t like salads, this is an easy way to get more greens into your diet.

Nut Milk is Preferred

You have a lot of alternatives for adding liquid to your smoothies, but you should be cautious about which ones you choose to keep your smoothie as healthy as possible.

Fruit juices, especially those with added sugar, should be avoided. Fruit is plenty sweet! There’s no need to add any more sugar.

If you choose, go for nut or dairy milk, though unsweetened is usually the best option. Sweetened nut milk isn’t necessary because you’ll sweeten your smoothie with natural components like fruit or honey.

Smoothies are a terrific way to add nourishment to your diet, and they’re simple to make. Follow the simple guidelines and you’ll be on your way toward better health. If you want to add a little some extra, check out Balance of Nature here.
